Series of handmade papers with vegetable fibers, painted with wound disinfectants and engraved with laser light. These works explore a syncretic language where ancestral and contemporary technologies are fused.
The making of each paper takes the form of a ritual, which takes between one and two months of work and which actions are performed within an ephemeral “Temenos» that I draw on the floor from the proportions of my body. This «sacred space» is transmuted and incorporated into paper by means of this ritual.
Pieces result in a kind of sculptural surface that challenges the body’s ability to be as much a support of physical wounds as a record of psychic wounds.
